The video clip below shows how a resolution was brought to the table to be voted on without any prior collaboration on the details, asking the council to approve over $11 million dollars!!
NO CFO in attendance to handle these questions.
Again, why wasn't this all done prior to the meeting?? Why did Mayor Fox and/or Acting BA, Meredith DeMarco ("who worked on this in detail with the CFO") not run all the details by the council before the council meeting? They are to come to the table, in public, to vote, not to have a meeting, while being pressured to vote, on what they are left in the dark from!!
This council has been blindsided time and time again.
They are forced to vote on these things when our Mayor claims an urgency.
I personally am not happy that this passed at all! I understand that we need the $9.8m to be approved to pay for our projects, but how in the world are we ok with an extra $2 million!? Councilman Gubitosi asking all the questions, helping the public understand what is going on, which clarified that if they didn't approve the $11+m, then they jeopardize the $9+m needed!!
Council President DeNoble asks about the rate and shows that the Mayor doesn't share it. Kudos to DeNoble for getting that first vote in as a big NO!
Asking for $2 Million Dollars more than what was originally discussed for projects is ALOT of extra money!!
